Anaphase ii in anaphase ii, chromosomes divide at the centromeres (like in mitosis) and the resulting chromosomes, each with one chromatid, move toward opposite poles of the cell. However, meiosis i begins with one diploid parent cell and ends with two haploid daughter cells, halving the number of chromosomes in each cell. Both produce two daughter cells from each parent cell.
